Lovely! I especially liked "Dandelions", perhaps more poingnant because so many people hate them when I think they're sunny (ok, true they look rough when they finish!). I recommend a friend's book of poems, "Falling Through Time" by Sherry L Ross. I think you'd enjoy it based on what I read here. I really like poetry, which surprises me. I think of it as pretentious in some ways, but it totally depends on the kind of poetry one likes. I like what I think of as down-to-earth poetry like Mary Oliver's or Edna St V Millay's.
We read “It Is Maybe Time to Admit Michael Jordan Definitely Pushed Off” today in class. I love its structure. A new favorite is “Refrigerator, 1957” by Thomas Lux. All thanks to Padraig O’Tuama at Poetry Unbound for putting it on my radar.
Thanks for these. I love them. I adore WILD GEESE by Mary Oliver. And I am learning Langston Hughes "Dreams". Thanks so much!
I love those poems, too!
Favorite poem right now and maybe forever: The Orange by Wendy Cope
Such a good one. Why do oranges make for such perfect poetry?
They're sugar for the eyes, tongue and nose. :-)
