Take a chance on historical romance
11 historical romance series to read on Kindle Unlimited this summer.
As a professional internet book person, I know I’m supposed to promote shopping at your local independent bookstores and—above all—staying away from Amazon. As an avid romance reader, I can’t always follow through on that expectation. Amazon serves as an important resource for indie romance authors as well as established authors whose fan base gobbles up ebooks. Sometimes I set aside the evils of Amazon and their apparent plan to take over the entire book industry for the sake of promoting authors and serving readers. All of this preamble is to say: Amazon Prime Days are approaching, and there’s a great deal for romance readers.
You can get three months of Kindle Unlimited for FREE July 16-17. That’s $0 for three months of nearly unlimited romance downloads to your ebook, a chance to discover new-to-you authors, or to dip your toes into a genre you’ve been curious about. This deal makes me happy for a few reasons:
For three months, you can support authors on Kindle Unlimited without giving Amazon your money (assuming you already have a Prime account).
It gives me a chance to convince you to try some historical romance, a subgenre many romance readers feel a little wary to enter.
I scoured the Kindle Unlimited (KU) catalog for the best historical romance offerings and put together a list for you. I am not as well-versed in the indie author world, so most of these titles come from traditionally published authors whose work is on KU. Some have their entire series on the platform (excellent for marathon reading) and some have single titles that give you a great taste of their work. This is a perfect chance to stock your e-reader for late summer vacations or too-hot-to-handle days in the AC.
