A stomach bug hit our whole house on Wednesday, so we’ve been relying on Ms Rachel, nap time, and the first glimpses of spring to carry us through. Other things saving my life right now:
We started giving our soft coated wheaten terrier Prozac for her severe anxiety a few months ago, and it’s been the best decision for all of us. She’s happier, wound a little less tight, and bonding more with Theo (the cuteness!). We tried CBD and behavioral training before giving her medication, but nothing worked as well as this. Penny’s anxiety journey mirrors my own in many ways; I’ll never forget when a veterinarian told me, “she’s a very anxious pup but so well behaved” and I was like … um same. Anyway, thank goodness for anti-anxiety meds, human or animal.
Speaking of anti-anxiety, let’s not underestimate the sun’s ability to make me feel like a completely new person in the spring.
My mom made her cream cheese coffee cake bars for Easter brunch, and they were delicious the next day with a big slice of egg bake.
On sleepless nights, I listened to Hotel of Secrets by Diana Biller, and I won’t get hyperbolic and say it healed me, but it did make the stomach bug situation more bearable. (Note: it’s way spicier than the cover would lead you to believe.)
I loved reading your stories and tips on Wednesday’s post. What a warm and welcoming comments section! Thank you for creating such a lovely space.
Wishing you sunshine and singing birds and NO stomach viruses this week.

My preordered copy of Hotel of Secrets just came and I'm so excited to dive in! I love Biller's writing.
I hope you feel better!
