Every Sunday, I sort through my Instagram saves and share a handful of posts I find beautiful, inspiring, delicious, or important. My saves folder is full of vintage decor, lovely kitchens, pretty florals, and intriguing recipes—and I have such fun sharing bits and pieces with everyone. I thought it would be fun to bring some of that Sunday Saves essence to this space each week with a short list of things I’m currently loving or soaking in from the internet, books, or my day to day life. I would love to see your additions in the comments.
Theo said goodbye to his little blue helmet last week! He wore it nearly 22 hours a day for almost ten months and handled it all like a champ. I’m thrilled to see his sweet curls and smooch his cheeks without clunky plastic getting in the way.
Saving for reference later this week: a guide to helping earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
I’m excited to see J. Ryan Stradal received a starred Kirkus review for my most anticipated 2023 read! I have an ARC and promise to read/review it soon.
When I was little, my dad made heart-shaped pizza for Valentine’s Day, and I plan to continue the tradition. Here’s my favorite dough recipe. We’re also giving Theo a book and treating ourselves to boxed brownies and ice cream (my absolute favorite dessert). I didn’t always love this holiday, but now I’ll take any excuse to celebrate in a bleak winter month and to create fun traditions for our family.
These sweetheart sables are too cute. We’re going for a low maintenance Valentine’s celebration here, but I’m filing this away for someday.
Hmm. Some interesting speculation on why romance novels are having *a moment* right now (though it’s been a bestselling genre for decades). In case you missed it, I’m posting a series on romance tropes and book recommendations on Instagram this month, and you can expect the series to filter into this newsletter as well.
Leigh Kramer recommend this small town romance on Twitter, and I downloaded it SO fast. It’s set in Wisconsin!
That’s all for this week, friends. I look forward to sharing more romance recs and nerdy genre deep dives with you.
