My Favorite 2024 Books & Things
The top ten books from my year of nesting, resting, and nurturing plus the products I'll buy again.
Every year, I throw together a top ten book list and post it on Facebook. I rarely visit that platform, but it’s fun to share books with friends who don’t follow me here or on Instagram. Mostly, I like the low stakes of this practice. I spend only a few minutes going through my reading log, and I go with my gut to create my collection of favorites—then I share it with no commentary on the books, letting the covers speak for themselves. Today I’m sharing my list with you, plus a few of my favorite things from the year (in which I spent the majority of my time growing a human).
Top Ten Favorite Books 2024
James by Percival Everett
Never Met a Duke Like You by Amalie Howard
Always Be My Duchess by Amalie Howard
Les Misérables by Victor Hugo
The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
Neighbors and Other Stories by Diane Oliver
On Beauty by Zadie Smith
The Wedding by Dorothy West
The Custom of the Country by Edith Wharton
A Love Song for Ricki Wilde by Tia Williams
Favorite Things
Beaded necklaces that brought me back to childhood and elevated my style.
Laundry boosting enzyme powder with no scent to make my clothes feel like new.
Happy green sneakers for a splash of color.
A portable charger for my phone, Kindle, and earbud case.
The Fenty Eaze Drop Stick (I’ve gone through three of them).
Glossier Balm (the original formula!) in mint and hot cocoa.
My Owala water bottle (the hype is warranted—I love it).
And those are just the most memorable books and physical things from the year—there are so many sweet moments, big events, and funny things my toddler said that I intend to cherish.
I hope you have a satisfying list of your own from 2024. If you have any standout items to share in the comments, I would love to hear about them.
